Help! We are seeking to block the 32 storey tower approved on the Port St site by judicial review

Who am I? - We are a community group made up of a ordinary people who live in the buildings that surround the proposed Port Street Tower.

Summary - We are undertaking a judicial review of the approved planning application to build a 32 storey tower on the junction of Port Street and Great Ancoats Street.  This will severely overshadow the neighbourhood, including the local primary school. A 32 storey tower is c.20 storeys taller than the all buildings surrounding it.

The planning consultation process showed that 81% of respondents did not support the development in the form proposed during consultation.  A total of 210 objections were made against the construction of this tower. This 210 does not include a large amount of people who are against the proposal but didn’t object formally as believed this to be a “fait accompli”.

We have a chance to stop this and have been lucky enough to enlist the same legal team who won the controversial Trees Not Cars judicial review and stopped the Central Retail Park approved planning application

What are we trying to achieve? - We aren't suggesting the site should not be developed, we are merely seeking a height restriction in keeping with the existing location.  A development that we will all appreciate and one that won't impact our lives in the way that this will.

Thank you so so much for your support!!
