Who are we?

Family Voice Somerset is a group of families who are at breaking point. We have come together to challenge the decision made by Somerset County Council to cut a number of crucial services for young people with special needs in our area.

Case Background

In September, the Somerset County Council made the decision to cut services including, but not limited to:

• Funding for staffing levelling in the ‘GetSet’ service they offer. The ‘GetSet’ services (including Children’s Centres) support children and young people with special educational needs aged (0-25) and their families. They provide services, early help and support
• Cuts to special educational needs transport provision.

We need your help to challenge this decision!

Why is this important?

Our aim is to stop to these cuts so that they do not impact disabled children and their families that rely on these services. Please support our efforts to get legal support and challenge the cuts by contributing now and most importantly sharing this page with your friends, family and on social media. 

How much are we raising and why?

We urgently need to raise £2,500 for the initial legal advice before applying for permission to issue a Judicial Review of the decision to cut these services. Funds raised will go directly to our legal team.
