Who are we?

We are a group of parents in Walsall, West Mids, who have children with special educational needs.

We are trying to stop the cuts to the only viable transport available for safely getting our children to the school/college they are entitled to. Please support our efforts to get legal support and challenge the cuts by contributing now and most importantly sharing this page with your friends, family and on social media.

This transport service is simply critical to the children we care for accessing their school/college. We can't let it be cut.

Case background

Many of our children have severe and complex life-threatening conditions, many are wheelchair bound and a very large majority will never be able to get on a bus without a qualified carer or support worker.

Our children are truly reliant on these transport service. They are unable to navigate independently to school or safely cross a busy road.

We have single parents who don't drive, we have both parents working who are faced with the prospect of giving up one of their jobs, we have parents who fear their children will be exposed to unacceptable risks travelling on public transport.

Our children don't have the access to the same options as mainstream children when they turn 16. They need the support of specialist educational settings and these are the only options open to them.

We are fighting to stop the cuts of the taxis, minibuses and coaches that take our children to and from school/college as it is a legal requirement for all children to remain in education until they are 18

These kinds of cuts are devastating our community in Walsall and we are fighting to do what we can to retain this crucial home to school transport service in Walsall.

How much are we raising and why?

We need your help to fundraise. This money will go to paying the legal fees of a solicitor in order to lawfully challenge the cuts to our home to school transport service.

Please help us legally challenge the council about these cuts which will have a devastating impact on our children.

Thanks for any support you can provide.
