Who Are We?
We are a family dedicated to healthcare and social care. One of us works as an NHS Reception Supervisor, while the other is a CQC-Registered Care Manager with a strong professional record, including two consecutive "Good" CQC ratings across all assessed areas.
What Happened?
A dispute with a former neighbour escalated into a sustained online campaign targeting both our personal and professional reputations.
Videos and posts were published across social media and review platforms containing serious allegations about us, including claims relating to our conduct as healthcare and care professionals. The Defendant also contacted our employers, resulting in workplace investigations and significant professional stress.
We strongly deny these allegations and believe they are false and defamatory. Despite extensive scrutiny, our professional records remain intact.
What Are We Trying to Achieve?
We issued High Court proceedings for Libel and Harassment to secure the removal of the content, prevent further harassment, and protect our reputations and livelihoods.
Before commencing proceedings, and throughout the litigation, efforts were made to resolve matters without further court action. Those attempts were unsuccessful.
Rather than resolving the matter, the Defendant filed a £50,000 Counterclaim against us. We are defending that claim while continuing to pursue our own case.
We believe no family should be forced to choose between protecting their reputation and protecting their financial future.
Why We Need Your Support
To date, we have spent more than £42,000 pursuing this case.
This money did not come from personal wealth. It came largely from a family inheritance and financial assistance from relatives who believed we deserved the opportunity to defend ourselves and clear our names.
Those funds have now been exhausted.
As a result, we can no longer afford to keep our solicitors formally on the court record. However, they remain committed to the case and continue to support us behind the scenes with legal advice, strategy, case preparation and coordination with Counsel.
All funds raised through this campaign will be applied directly to that ongoing legal work.
We are now seeking public support to help ensure this case is decided on its merits, rather than on who can afford to spend the most money.
A Matter of Fairness
During the proceedings, the Defendant has asserted financial hardship. However, he has also publicly stated that his property is worth approximately £950,000. Publicly available Land Registry records indicate ownership of a mortgage-free property which appears to have a value in the region of £700,000.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Every penny raised through CrowdJustice will be paid directly to our solicitors for work carried out on this case.
The funds will be used to:
- Ongoing legal advice and case preparation.
- Support for upcoming High Court hearings.
- Work relating to the Defendant's £50,000 Counterclaim.
- Applications seeking the removal of defamatory material.
- Obtaining a final injunction to prevent further harassment and contact with our employers.
Thank You
This case is about more than our family. It is about whether ordinary people can obtain justice when faced with sustained online harassment and reputational attacks.
If you are able to donate, we would be extremely grateful. If not, sharing this page with friends, family and professional networks can make a real difference.
Thank you for your support.
