We are a group of residents that are arguing that the decision to close the road from Sheen Gate to Sheen Cross permanently was not evidenced based and any sensible compromises were dismissed.

We have spoken to a Barrister and are writing via a Solicitor to the Royal Parks to establish the exact legal basis for their decision. there is very limited time.

We have raised some funds to date but need more to achieve justice.  We need £45,000 to mount a legal challenge on a worst case basis, confirmed by the Barrister/Solicitor.

The very young, old , infirm and those having mobility problems are effectively excluded from large areas of the park. They can - as all other gates are open - pollute the surrounding area by driving to those gates - cycling is not always an option.

One of the main TRP goals to reduce rat running in the Park clearly has not been achieved by closing Sheen Gate to Sheen Cross - first Sheen Gate was the 2nd most used route at rush hour (TRP data) and by standing counting vehicles recently, the numbers of vehicles at rush hour have passed the pre covid numbers. We suggested opening the road after rush hour - apparently not possible ?
