worked in Pakistan 12 years 1980 - 92 witnessed the suffering of Pakistani Christians, listened to their stories of persecution and felt their pain not being believed by the Asylum process in UK.

Nasreen Imran and family are all Pakistani Christians seeking refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK.The couple have two boys aged 13(ZR) and 10 (ZK).

Nasreen worked as a teacher in Muslim school in Pakistan.During one school lunch break she urged two Christian pupils to pray in accordance with the Christian religion and the Muslim pupils to pray in the Muslim tradition.

Another teacher complained to the headmistress that Nasreen had spoken against Islam and had urged Muslim pupils to pray according to the Christian religion.

She was attacked and burnt with a cigarette.Following another attack, she and her children were forced to move to another region of Pakistan. Nasreen telephoned to the previous school to obtain the children's certificates required for enrolment to their new school. She believes that the school must have disclosed her address to the group, as several men came to the locale looking for her.

She was charged with blasphemy and a First Information Report registered against her.The family came to the UK in 29 November 2014 pursuant to a previous grant of visit visa, and claimed asylum on 16 December 2014.the application was based on religious persecution and the Pakistani authorities unwillingness to protect them, but were refused.

The family appealed unsuccessfully,as the tribunal did not examine the core facts of the case. The family want to re-present their case using specialist country and medical evidence, and they are now even more vulnerable as Nasreen is pregnant and suffering from antenatal depression.

They need financial assistance to obtain the expert reports and for modest legal cost for the fresh application.Since arriving in the UK the family unit, including the boys who are doing well at school, have been able to observe their religion without fear of discrimination. This was not the case in Pakistan, where religious minorities of all types are subjected to discrimination, harassment and punishment.
