We are Trull Ridge Community Interest Group, a group of residents fighting to save our green wedge from development.
Trull Ridge Green Wedge is an area of open agricultural land that positively contributes to the local character of Trull Parish. It also acts as a natural boarder defining Trull as a village separate from Taunton Town. This important green wedge is being threatened by development.
We need to raise £27,000 in one week in order to fund a legal team to fight our case. We need your support: please contribute and share this page now!
While Somerset Council is building a case to fight for the Ridge on Trull Parishes behalf, our odds of winning are higher if the community launches a legal campaign based on personal knowledge and experience of the area.
Trull Parish Council has engaged a barrister for initial legal advice funded by precept set aside for cases like this. Our group needs to find further money to continue the legal support culminating in a hearing in September.
Trull Parish Council have released seed-funding money to start the legal process, but the case will be costly, and funding a big legal campaign is a risk to public funds which are used to care for the village. If we crowdfund the rest of the cost, we will be able to support the case beyond the initial consultation, including the proposed 6 day hearing.
