Summary -

Im asking for help to raise funds to save Brookfield Walk Greenbelt and Public Open Space from development

The funds will go towards funding legal action against a planning application and an appropriation decision.

Having exhausted all avenues for compromise through 1000’ of petition letters and over a 1000 objections to the plans my legal representatives has advised that this is the only way forward. NSC and councils alike should not use green belt and public open space as free land. Open space is an invaluable asset for communities it gives access for the young to explore and play, allows young adults to meet and excursive  and plays an important part in the well-being of the elderly who can't travel or walk large distances to get their exercise and enjoy nature. It sustains vital habitats COVID 19 has reemphasised the importance of local easily accessible spaces for people to exercise and nurture their mental health. The importance of protecting these spaces, trees and animals for future generations has never been greater.

Call to action

We are raising £15,000 to help cover legal fees.

What are we trying to achieve?

It will help deter councils from building on public open spaces that are used and valued by the community

What is the next step in the case?

We have issued a pre action protocol letter. And are in the process of asking for permission to proceed.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and your support is much appreciated.
