In June, West Lindsey District Council approved yet another factory farm in Lincolnshire.
The Council gave the green light for almost one million birds a year to be confined in the UK’s factory farm capital – without knowing all the environmental impacts.
We submitted a legal challenge to stop this development before it gets off the ground.
Together, we have a chance to stop the spread of intensive chicken farms in Lincolnshire. Can you chip in to make sure we can fight this legal battle all the way to the High Court?
Lincolnshire is already the UK’s factory farming hotspot.
The accumulation of intensive poultry units (IPUs) is putting unbearable strain on the River Witham.
IPUs are mega-installations where hundreds of thousands of birds are confined.
The waste, ammonia and manure they generate are choking our rivers, disturbing neighbours and creating health problems for the most vulnerable residents.

These two new intensive chicken sheds at Ingleby Farm would together confine an additional 900,000 birds in Lincolnshire every year.
Yet, remarkably, the Council dismissed the need to assess all the environmental impacts, which was a clear breach of planning regulations.

We’re the last line of defence against factory farming expanding uncontrollably in Lincolnshire.
