I’m Steve Smedley. Until recently I was the secretary of Suffolk Coastal Constituency Labour Party.

On Wednesday 10 March 2021 I was unjustly expelled from The Labour Party on the grounds that images in my Twitter profile mistakenly demonstrated support for the IST, a left-wing political grouping. I have worked extremely hard for my local Labour Party over the last two years. These allegations are completely unfounded and deeply hurtful.

I want to overturn my exclusion and be readmitted to the Labour Party so I can continue supporting my local party. Your money will help pay for professional help to draft a legal challenge to my exclusion. I have to submit my challenge to the Labour Party’s Governance and Legal Unit by Tuesday 23 March, so there’s no time to lose.
