Hi there, thank you for taking an interest and reading my story! I'd love to tell you a bit more about me personally, but for the sake of my claim I need to to remain as anonymous as possible.

But here's why I need some help - It was mid November 2018 and I was around 16 weeks pregnant when I was told that redundancies were being considered in my workplace. At the end of November I was told I was in a pool of 2 who were being considered to be let go, 1 week later I was told my role was being made redundant - I was the only one being let go and received an official letter early December with the terms of my dismissal. In February 2019 the company advertised and soon after recruited at least 2 new staff under the same job title that I was let go under.

I've been fighting my case now for almost 18 months and have court dates set for the summer this year. It's felt like a lifetime and the finish line is in sight... but with a significant barristers fee to pay on top of everything that we have gone through this is a cost I need help to fund.

Unfortunately, my post maternity leave employment came to an end abruptly 2 months ago due to the Covid epidemic, with no furlough pay or Universal Credit support to help my husband and I financially. I had only returned to work at the end of January so had barely gotten my feet under the table. A wonderful surprise came our way when we found out baby number 2 is on its way, due towards the end of the year. However this has made me high risk during these times, and therefore restricted to find a job/ contract and earn to fund my barrister fee, on top of general living costs.

I'm hoping to raise funds but at the same time make sure that no other woman has to go through what I and my family have gone through over the past 18 months. We are happy and healthy, but in need of support for the final leg of this battle. My legal team are extremely confident in my claim and we all believe that my pregnancy was the reason I was selected for redundancy, which as we all know is illegal and an act of discrimination.

Thank you for reading x
