Read moreAs someone who always wears a smile writing this is incredibly difficult, but I have reached the point where “I must ask for help, not just for me, but for my son and our future.”
For 12 years I have been pretended to be “ok” but that’s not the case. In 2013 after years of hospital visits, unanswered questions, at aged 6 my beautiful son was diagnosed with a very rare genetic condition. It was devastating, and with so little known about it “every day has carried a weight of worry that never truly lifts.”
At this time “I was also suffering with severe and debilitating menopausal symptoms” and was signed off work. During this time my employer of 17 years, outsourced my department in “a TUPE arrangement, a process that was mishandled from the start.” Contractual obligations were ignored, and what should have been a straightforward transfer, without any impact, became a nightmare that has followed me for over a decade.
Despite mental and physical exhaustion, and years of never having a good night’s sleep, along with trying to be the best mother I can, “I have spent 12 years seeking justice.” Along the way I was dismissed, been given poor legal advice, misled, and “abandoned by the very union that supported two male colleagues in similar circumstances.”
I have tried every possible avenue to resolve this without legal action, not having the funds to do so, “pouring thousands of hours into communication with the companies involved.” None have shown integrity, compassion, or duty of care. Their actions have “caused immense anxiety, stolen precious moments from my life, and prevented me from healing” for something I never should have had to endure.
Through all of this, my son, a gentle, kind soul has grown up watching his mum fight a battle she never wanted. He doesn’t realise the strength he gives me, and “it is for him and his future I refuse to give up.”
In a final effort to bring this ordeal to an end, with limited funds kindly loaned to me by my wonderful dad, I sought advice from two highly respected legal specialists. I need closure. I need justice. But as I’ve learned painfully over the years, “there is no justice without money.”
Most importantly, the fact remains “I did nothing wrong,” and the rules and regulations that should have been there to protect me were simply not followed.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will be received with genuine gratitude, and allow me to peruse this injustice in court. “It would be life changing for me and my family.”
Thank you all, for taking the time to read my story and for any help you are able to give.
