Who am I?

I am a 69 year old NHS nurse. I have worked as a nurse for over 50 years and am currently a Triage Sister at a large NHS GP practice - a job which is mentally very challenging and stressful especially during this Covid-19 crisis.

My story

I invested my entire inheritance from my mother and my late partner amounting to £150,000 with an individual posing as an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) who was working with the investment arm of a Firm of Chartered Accountants based in Taunton.

He opening a bank account in a similar name to their official account and spent all of my money and that of others on high living and gambling including buying shares in race horses.

He was bankrupted 2 years ago and I have tried to claim from his employer who has denied the claim on the basis that he was acting outside of his agreed contract and that my investment was unregulated.

I know that they are insured but don't want to claim as it will effect their professional liability insurance in the future. They are also banking in the fact I don't have the money to sue them.

They allowed this individual, who has been arrested but not yet charged as it takes time,  to use their name and say that he was working with Chartered Accountants to gain my trust and they are now distancing themselves. They also knew that this individual was not approved by the Financial Conduct Authority and they should never have allowed him to use their name.

Why is this important?

This individual has ruined the lives of 14 pensioners and deprived them of their life saving amounting to millions of pounds.

Please support me with any donation - big or small - and share this page widely with friends and family over WhatsApp, email or on social media.

How much am I raising and why?

My friends and family have already put up £6,000 to obtain a very detailed solicitors opinion but they and I don't have the money to get an opinion from a senior barrister (QC) and I can't ask my family for more.

We need to raise the sum of £7,000 plus vat. A total of £8,400 to pay for the barrister's fees to ascertain the merits of the case and hopefully get them and their insurers to the agree to settle not only for me but the other pensioners as well.

Thank you.
