Palestine Action was the first direct action group of its kind to be proscribed as a terrorist organisation in British legal history.

The proscription has significant implications for the right to protest and for the need to protect freedom of expression. Its impact and an appreciation of its unprecedented reach is already starkly clear in a shocking statistic; thousands have been arrested for holding up signs to campaign against the ban. Each now faces the prospect of being convicted under the Terrorism Act - forever labelled a terrorist.

The fight against what is intended by the Government to remain an unstoppable ban has now a last chance in the U.K. The Supreme Court has given permission to argue the central ground of appeal - that the ban is a legally unjustifiable exercise of executive power and in its practical effect, not just a disproportionate restriction, but one totally destructive of the exercise of fundamental human rights.

The case is now listed to be heard by the Supreme Court on 4 and 5 November 2026. Funds need to be raised now for the legal team and the costs of this critical challenge.
