This case is raising funds for its stretch target. Your pledge will be collected within the next 24-48 hours (and it only takes two minutes to pledge!)

I am Keith Jordan, the founder and director of Our Duty, an international support network comprising nearly 3,000 parents dedicated to safeguarding children from the harms of transgender ideation and medical transition. We are an evidence-based organisation, pioneers in parent peer support, and driven by a commitment to the principles of protecting children from harmful gender ideology.

Our mission, however, faces an unexpected challenge. When attempting to set up a bank account for Our Duty International Ltd, the limited company established to support each of our international chapters (in UK, USA, Canada, and Australia), we encountered resistance from Metro Bank, the seventh-largest bank in Britain with 2.5 million customers. Despite having an existing account with them, we were informed that our website's content conflicted with their “culture and ideas”. It was made clear in a telephone call that our mission was not aligned with the Stonewall worldview as reported in this Telegraph article.

This incident raises concerns about freedom of expression and discrimination against organisations with evidence-based perspectives like Our Duty. We have already received initial legal advice that Our Duty International Ltd may have a claim for discrimination under Part 3 of the Equality Act 2010. To be fully upfront, one aspect of our case that may cause difficulty is whether limited companies have protection under the Equality Act 2010, but there is some case law which suggests they do. We have instructed Elliot Hammer who acted for Sonia Appleby in her successful whistleblowing case against the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and who is also acting for Emma Hardy against David Lloyd Leisure and Natalie Bird against the Liberal Democrats.

To address this challenge and ensure legal protection for gender-critical organisations in the future, we are launching this crowdfunding campaign. Your support will enable us to:

a) Investigate the reasons behind Metro Bank's refusal and gather documentary evidence.

b) Issue and serve a claim against Metro Bank.

c) Prosecute the litigation up to trial.

d) Obtain damages and a costs order against Metro Bank.

We recognize that our case may set a precedent for other companies and organisations that seek the truth around sex and gender, offering legal protection against discrimination. If successful, this could be a significant step forward in defending organisations that share our commitment to protecting children from harmful gender ideology.

If you can donate, your support will be invaluable in our pursuit of justice. We understand that not everyone may be in a position to contribute financially, but sharing our crowdfunding campaign on social media or discussing it with friends and colleagues can also make a meaningful impact.

We are committed to keeping you updated throughout this legal journey, and we hope to celebrate our success with you. Thank you for considering our cause and standing with us to protect children from the potential harms of gender ideology.

We are attempting to raise £2,500 initially and then have a current stretch target of £75,000.

Any spare funds from this crowd funder will be spent supporting other legal work that furthers Our Duty's mission to safeguard adolescents.

Sincerely,

Keith Jordan Founder and Director Our Duty
