I’m Katy Morgan and I am single mum of 2 boys. My free speech rights have been impacted after an injunction has been granted against me, enforcing a non-disclosure agreement.

I’m Katy Morgan and I’m a single mum of two young boys. All my life I’ve struggled with issues about my self-image and so I foolishly paid for breast augmentation surgery with “the Boob God” Dr Riccardo Frati in April 2021.

I was left seriously unwell and requiring hospitalisation. I believe that Dr Frati is responsible and that he did a really bad job.

Whilst I was in hospital undergoing procedures and attempting to recuperate, Dr Frati offered me a settlement agreement preventing me from passing information to any regulators, including the General Medical Council. The General Medical Council exist to ensure Britain has good, safe doctors that look after patients and don’t take advantage of them. I didn’t take legal advice about it, but I was in hospital, really poorly and suffering and not thinking straight

Some years later I felt the need to speak out about my treatment at the hands of Dr Frati, because I’d heard from other women telling me they had similar experiences and wanted to ensure people knew what happened. Dr Frati responded by suing me. Even though I didn’t have any lawyers representing me, they managed to convince a judge to make an order – an injunction – silencing me and threatening to send me to jail if I discussed details of the surgery on social media or in the press. Naturally, I have been terrified of saying anything negative about Dr Frati, and haven’t been able to tell my story because of that injunction.

With the help of the Free Speech Union, and the lawyers they referred me to, I succeeded in lifting the injunction against me on 15 January 2026, after a legal fight going on nearly two years. Dr Frati had argued that the injunction shouldn’t be lifted because of “internet trolls”. I can now speak out about my ordeal, and I want to take the opportunity to ask for your help in defending myself against Dr Frati’s continuing claim against me. Dr Frati is a powerful man, regularly touted in the tabloid press as a TV doctor of celebrity patients. He seems to love the limelight, referring to himself as the “go to surgeon for faces from The Only Way is Essex” . As I know only too well based on my own experience his actions can be a matter of life or death, and can cause lasting injury. Prospective patients deserve to know that my surgery was poor, and that he tried to prevent me from complaining to his regulator, the General Medical Council.

My Story

Dr Frati is a well-known cosmetic surgeon. On 21 April 2021, I had day surgery at Dr Frati’s clinic in the Harley Street Hospital.

After surgery, I was given a non-disclosure agreement. Around the time it was signed I was in hospital undergoing procedures for a separate course of medical treatment through the NHS. I did not have the opportunity to take legal advice. The terms of the NDA stipulated that I would be prohibited from speaking publicly about Dr Frati’s surgery and even from divulging information to his regulator the General Medical Council.

Dr Frati accused me of breaching the NDA in 2023. Later that year, I was the subject of an interim injunction to force me to comply with the terms of the NDA, which prohibited me from speaking out publicly about Dr Frati.

The Times has written about my case here.

Legal Proceedings

Although the injunction against me has been lifted, Frati’s underlying claim that I breached the settlement agreement remains live. This means that if I lose the case the injunction will be put in place again and I will have to pay his legal costs. My legal team argue that the agreement was illegal, void and therefore unenforceable. I will also be relying on Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

On 9 February 2026 I will return to Manchester County Court to ask it to strike out Dr Frati’s claim. If my application is unsuccessful, the claim will proceed to trial on 11 May. At this stage, I am asking for your help with the first stage of striking out the claim.

I am being represented by solicitor, Elliot Hammer of Branch Austin McCormick LLP and barrister, David Mitchell of 39 Essex Chambers. Your help with my legal fees is indispensable and I am grateful for every penny you donate towards my case. This is a matter of the highest public interest – the ability of patients to hold their doctor to account when things go wrong – and a successful outcome will help any other women who have suffered like I did.

In the event I am successful, any costs I recover will be reallocated to a similar crowdfunding campaign hosted by CrowdJustice.

Thank you,

Katy.
