The traumatic event happened some years ago. I was violated and raped by a man who now accuses me of ABH and l have got to defend myself at crown court. We met online and on our second date agreed to a dinner at a restaurant but he lured me to his house knowing the wine bar just in front of his flat would close as soon as we got there. I unwittingly said yes. He sexually assaulted me and raped me. I felt violated, traumatised and very upset. He hid me shoes. He didn’t want me to leave. He wanted to further violate me. I was scared for my life. Now he accuses me of assaulting him. 

l do not feel this is right and acceptable at all. I think it sends the wrong message to society that women in the face of sexual assault and violence should just let it happen. Otherwise if they defend themselves, they will be branded as a criminal, be sent to prison, because they are defending themselves against such a serious violation. 

The legal bills are very high, and l want to raise £18,000 to cover the legal costs, including getting an experienced counsel for the trial. I would really be grateful if anyone can help even a little bit… l will promise to update on my case and on the outcome.
