Who am I? - my name is Karina Driscoll, I am mother of Melody Driscoll

Summary - to take a Doctor to the GMC for unfairly accusing me of FII and not listening to our daughter, causing unnecessary suffering and harm.

Call to action - We are raising £4,000 - £6,000 to instruct our legal team who have supported us from the very start of the Inquest process, who know Melody’s failings better than anyone. We believe the doctor in question breached Melody’s medical rights as well as our Parental Rights. She is a Doctor that accuses many parents of FII (Fabricated Induced Illness) which is a form of child abuse. In our case, she formed a view about us a family within minutes, and without any psychological input. We believe she is not taking children’s best interests into account.

Melody died almost 3 years ago in agony and the doctor continues to accuse parents of FII, gets children taken off their parents by liaising with Social Services; in our view, this is an abuse of her position of trust. In Melody’s case, this took our attention away from our daughter in her final weeks, just when she needed us the most, and when she was suffering excruciating pain. The only way we can stop this happening is to take this legal action through the GMC with our legal team.

We are confident and hopeful that now we have so much evidence against her, even being confirmed at the inquest and our Legal Team on board. We can stop her doing this again. What are we trying to achieve? - we are trying to stop this Doctor using FII accusations against parents when they don’t agree with her; we are trying to stop this doctor causing unnecessary stress, damage, suffering and potential death to her patients and families. This Doctor is VERY Dangerous

What is the next step in the case? reporting the doctor to the GMC

How much we are raising and why? - Our solicitor estimates the cost to be around £4,000 - 6000. We do not want to do this without our legal team as we are going up against a hospital and their legal team
