I am a dear friend and longtime carer for Tamera, Tamera and I just wants closure to this whole situation so that we both can move forward, I have no more finances to help support Tamera.

This is a campaign on behalf of a middle-aged Jamaican woman who has been in the UK for several years but who is facing immigration difficulties, despite long-standing anorexia nervosa and mental health issues.

The SSHD has refused to grant her leave, and Tamera has not succeeded in legal challenges. According to professional medical opinion Tamera should have supportive care around to monitor her, to prevent life-threatening deterioration, and to help her to recover from episodes of crisis.

Tamera has been diagnosed as having recurrent depressive disorder and anorexia nervosa. Tamera has had several periods of time supported by Nottinghamshire Healthcare Crisis Team, and her last admission was due to experiencing suicidal thoughts. Her condition is enduring and severe. Tamera is at risk of physical health damage and even death by her poor nutritional intake. Tamera experiences frequent suicidal thoughts. Her motivation is low and she finds it hard to concentrate. Tamera has been poor at communicating. The risk of suicide seems to be increasing with the prospect of removal from the country.

Tamera is very frightened about the possibility of returning to Jamaica and relies on the emotional support of her long term friend and carer Ms. Hepburn.

Tamera struggles to form therapeutic relationships and being forced to make further relationships in a different country would be very stressful and lead to a further deterioration in her mental health. Her prognosis if returned to Jamaica is poor. The doctors and social services have recognised that such support will totally be lacking on return and that the existing  bonded care benefits this highly vulnerable individual.

We ask for your support with  funds to pay for the cost of an expert nursing report, and the cost of a new application with legal support.
