Help us house people humanely – stop the government's cruel barges!

The government is forcing people who have been through traumatic journeys across treacherous waters, onto barges unfit for human habitation. According to the Fire Brigade Union, the barges are "potential death traps", a disaster waiting to happen.
Despite knowing the risks, the government recklessly housed people on barges where the deadliest form of legionella bacteria was found, posing an immediate threat to their lives. People who came to our country seeking protection are instead finding themselves in a dire and life-threatening situation.
It gets worse, people who have been granted refugee status are now facing eviction with only seven days’ notice, leading to a massive increase in homelessness. While others are forced into more cramped and cruel detention centres and dangerous shared housing.
We cannot stand by as innocent lives hang in the balance so we provide emergency support for those in desperate need.
Sharaan, who lives in shared accommodation told us that the places they are housed are “not clean or hygienic and very unsafe” - he has been a victim of assaults inside the accommodation.
Sharaan is not alone many are facing similar situations daily because the government is pursuing a targeted policy towards people who move based on cruelty and cruelty alone. But we won’t let them win.
With you support we are helping migrants in need of emergency shelter. And our champion lawyers are helping clients who are facing evictions and stuck in detention centres.
Our commitment to protecting people in crisis has never been more crucial. We provide emergency relief and accommodation for people targeted by this government's hostile policies. Your support is the lifeline for many who are fighting against despair, and helplessness.
Today, we ask you to join us and take action!
