I was robbed of so many things as a little girl - help me get justice!
Who am I?
I am a graduate and a mother. I suffer from complex PTSD and anxiety and would like to raise money for this case against Bradford Social Services on the basis that they failed to adequately care for me and prevent me from suffering significant harm.
My Case
I would like to bring a claim in negligence against Bradford Social Services When I was aged 8 years, I was physically and sexually abused by my uncle and aunt and my biological father. I was also sexually and physically abused by my paternal grandfather from the age of 13 years till the age of 17.
I was under the care of Bradford Social Services at the age of 12 as it was known to Bradford Council that I was sexually abused by my grandfather and father. Social Services carried out medical examinations on me and found that I was indeed sexually abused.
My father and grandfather fled the country to Pakistan they were therefore not convicted of the offences against me.
In 1992, the court made an order prohibiting unsupervised contact with the me and my family. I was subsequently ordered to attend a secure unit namely the Highlands unit which was a special unit which provided schooling for children who suffered from mental health problems.
At the end of each day at the Hylands unit a taxi was arranged by Bradford Social Services who would pick me up to be dropped off at my foster family’s home. I was then instead dropped off at my family’s home which was prohibited by the court order. Subsequently I was abducted to Pakistan at age 13 to be met by my abusive grandfather, father, aunt and uncle. I was sexually and physically abused by my grandfather and was eventually forced into a marriage at the age of 16 years old in Pakistan. Social Services admit that they failed to confiscate my passport.
My father and grandfather were not prosecuted as they fled the country. However medical evidence findings were consistent with the allegations of sexual and physical abuse.
I made a complaint to Social services regarding this in November 2016. I argued that Social Services failed to adequately care for me as I was subjected to further sexual and physical abuse by my family members in Pakistan. Bradford Social Services responded to my letter on the 6th March 2017. In their letter Social services agree with the complaints made by myself and agree that they could have done more to prevent me from being taken out of the country by confiscating my passport as it was a common knowledge that took place in South Asian families.
Why am I raising funds?
I now want to raise money for my civil action against Bradford Social Services and would like your help me to achieve my target so I can proceed with my case.
I would be so grateful for any contribution, large or small, and for your help in spreading the word to friends, relatives and colleagues about my case. Thank you!
