Help Family Court Survivor Share Her Story
Help Family Court Survivor Share Her Story
Who are we? -
We are raising funds to represent a client in an upcoming High Court hearing in late February—a case that could set a crucial precedent for survivors of domestic abuse and family court transparency.
This client is a survivor of rape and abuse who fought for years to protect her child from harm. After courageously raising rape allegations, her concerns were dismissed. Instead, the father’s counter-allegation of parental alienation was given credence, leading to devastating consequences. After a lengthy legal battle, the truth was finally acknowledged—but the system failed her for too long. After successfully representing her on appeal and at the retrial, the court recognised her as a rape victim, recognised her child as a victim of domestic abuse, and terminated the father’s parental responsibility. Now, she's fighting to speak out anonymously to ensure no other parent or child has to endure this.
Summary -
This client is now fighting for the right to speak publicly about her experience under a pseudonym to protect her child’s identity. This hearing before a High Court judge is expected to attract significant media attention and will be another crucial step in ensuring survivors can safely and lawfully share their experiences. The hearing will be in late February.
