This appeal is from the TV Harrison Action Group in Leeds chaired by Michael Meadowcroft

Funds are needed to find out from the council what powers it will use in order to appropriate our well loved and protected playing field and for development. We need know exactly why our council thinks it can build on protected playing fields that are held in Trust for the Children of Leeds -  but the council are reluctant to answer so we are putting on legal pressure.

Our playing field has been used for sport since at least 1857. It's like our village green.

This Ward is deprived of outdoor sports provision by many acres  - and that is admitted by our council because of errors in their planning documents! This is a neighbourhood with multiple social problems and 25% of the population are children. Outcomes for children are poor and they have limited access to sports facilities or even spaces to play......

We have a Judicial Review ahead and Leeds Council have agreed to submit to judgement and to cover our costs incurred because of their errors! We've already proved that our playing field is a Community Asset.

This is a critical opportunity to save a vital sports facility and green space in a densely populated neighbourhood.

We need to raise a further £4.600  and keep up the pressure. We are winning but it costs. Every little will help.

Thanks to everyone   -  ordinary folk calling for justice for the  Children of Leeds.
