Keep it short, clear and include a call to action. These headings might help…

My name is Debrah Goldston. I am a homeowner on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border whose home was repeatedly flooded between 2019 and 2021.

Despite holding household insurance with AXA, my claims were refused. The floods destroyed most of my possessions, severely damaged the ground floor of my home, and caused years of disruption and distress.

After exhausting complaints and regulatory processes, I now need legal representation to bring this matter to a final resolution.

This case concerns repeated flood damage and the refusal of insurance cover under a household policy. Although aspects of my complaints were upheld by the Financial Ombudsman Service, the compensation limits were insufficient given the scale of loss.

To secure proper redress, I must now pursue the matter through formal legal channels.

I am raising £50,000 to fund specialist legal representation and expert evidence to bring this case to resolution.

Without this funding, justice cannot prevail.

If you believe insurers should honour their obligations and homeowners should not be left financially devastated after flooding, please contribute and share this page.

This case is not only about my home.

It raises important questions about:

• How insurers handle repeated flood claims
• The limits of Ombudsman compensation in high-value disputes
• Accountability when vulnerable policyholders face prolonged delay

A fair settlement would allow me to repair and restore my home properly — and would demonstrate that insurers cannot rely on delay and imbalance of resources to outlast policyholders.

The next stage involves preparing the case for litigation.

This includes:

• Instructing specialist insurance solicitors and counsel
• Finalising expert evidence on flood causation and loss
• Preparing formal pleadings and trial strategy

This is the decisive stage. With proper legal support, the matter can be brought to a conclusion.

We are seeking to raise £50,000 to cover:

• Counsel’s fees
• Solicitors’ preparation costs
• Expert reports
• Court-related expenses

High-value insurance litigation is expensive, and insurers have substantial resources. This funding will allow the case to be properly argued and presented on equal footing.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Your support — whether through a donation or by sharing this page — makes a real difference. After years of disruption, I am seeking closure and accountability.

Every contribution helps move this case toward resolution.
