On Tuesday 16th October, at the High Court in London, members of North Cambs, Beds & Bucks and Northants Hunt Sabs faced a request for a wide reaching injunction from the Fitzwilliam Hunt, to prevent us from exposing and publicising their systematic law breaking.

In the past 6 months alone, members of the Fitzwillliam Hunt have been convicted for assault, criminal damage and crucially; hunting a fox with dogs. These convictions have all been following evidence submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service by hunt saboteurs.

Please support our legal action to overturn this injunction. We can't do this alone and we need your support. Please contribute now and share this page.

Following a new 2018/19 season where the assaults from hunt supporters have already commenced, and complaints to police have started to mount up, the Fitzwilliam have opened their bottomless wallets (the owner of the hunt was listed as one the 100 most wealthy people in the country, in the 2016 Sunday Times rich list) and commenced a hugely expensive legal process to prevent hunt sabs from attending their meets.

In a real-life David vs Goliath case, twelve ordinary working people are now faced with a court case against a multi millionaire owner of some 17,000 acres of hunting land alone.

While the Fitzwilliam's initial 300 page court submission, followed by two days notice of an initial court hearing, was rejected by the judge; a cut-down injunction which prevents legitimate protest activity against illegal hunting is now under consideration by the courts.

This is of course above and beyond our normal costs. This draconian effort by the hunt is designed to silence those exact individuals who have embarrassed them by hauling them in front of criminal courts and seeing them convicted. This is an example of the wealthy, landed classes of this country buying protection from the law which applies to everyone else.

We are launching a campaign to help cover our anticipated defence costs.

Waiting on an (interim) outcome...

After our last case hearing on November 1st, we await a verdict from the High Court judge on what happens next. This is uncharted territory and the support we have received so far has allowed us to stand up for the rights of wildlife and the public's ability to protest against illegal activity by hunts.

We will hear more from the courts on Friday 16th November, when we will be able to update our supporters again.

Court hearing tomorrow

The hearing for our case will be tomorrow morning, at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

We are going in to this with a well versed and highly capable legal team, the backing of a huge number of people and the knowledge that we are campaigning for fair and legal treatment of our wildlife.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us get this far. The result tomorrow will very much depend on how the judge interprets our case, but we will be updating our supporters as soon as we are able.

Until then.

We've made it!

We are truly are overwhelmed by the support we have received so once again a huge thanks to everyone. It goes to show the level of support the British public have for our cause and the universal disgust and blood sports in general.

We will be making the final arrangements  with regards to booking our barrister today and moving forwards with the case.

We will of course update everyone with a court date when we know more.

Thanks again.
