I'm the mother of Megan Evans, who took her own life aged 14 after suffering at the hands of cyber-bullies. I am launching this campaign to raise funds to challenge the school who badly let Megan down

My daughter Meghan took her own life after being cyber bullied. We need answers as to how this was allowed to happen. I'm launching a legal campaign to get answers about what happened but I need your help. Please contribute now and share this page on Twitter and Facebook.

I’ll describe My 14 year old daughter Megan ~ beautiful, kind, vivacious, funny, hugely popular & confident.

Megan is dead.

She took her own life on 7th February 2017 after suffering at the hands of Bullies.

As I’ve described Megan above, is what I saw every day. She always had a smile on her face and a spring in her step. However in school this is not the carefree girl her friends describe. She was moody, emotional, angry & upset. So bad was her emotional state, she had a time-out pass to pardon her from lessons when she felt she could not cope. She was receiving counselling. We as her parents had no idea. If we had known how emotionally distressed she was, we would have known something was very very wrong. We would have been able to help her.

Megan may now be here sat holding my hand. Instead, I am left holding a broken family & broken heart.

As parents, we feel Megan has been failed and inadvertently so has every other pupil that has been affected by her death.

We need to know what has happened, and why it went so tragically wrong for Megan. It won’t bring Megan back, but it will help prevent this from ever happening again. It is vital that these issues are fully examined and lessons are learned by all involved to ensure this never happens again.

How much are we raising and why?

We can't do this alone which is why we are asking for your support on covering the legal costs.

A Coronor has now confirmed that an Inquest will be heard into my daughter’s death. This will look in to the reasons and circumstances as to why Megan took her own life, why vital warning signs were missed, why the evidence was not shared and most fundamentally what needs to be done in the future to ensure this never happens again. The outcome of this Inquest will, I hope with all my heart, stop the needless loss of any further young lives. That would be justice for Megan.

Initially, we will be raising £8,500 to cover legal costs and fees to get the challenge started but then we will need to go on to raise £13,000 to cover the full costs of the inquest.

...

Megan's death cannot be in vain.

Children are suffering ~ children are losing their lives.

I want to fight to safeguard the future of our children.

I want to be the voice of every parent who’s terrified of sending their child to school.

I want to be the reason young people are not afraid to speak up & reach out, knowing they won’t be ignored.

There is now to be an Inquest into Megan's death. This should provide some answers and, from the bottom of my heart I hope, prevents the needless loss of children's lives

I need your help to get justice for Megan.
