Who am I?

Gary Youds – Owner of Chillin’ Rooms and compassionate cannabis

campaigner! Chillin’ Rooms is a community-based cannabis café in Liverpool, which looks to cut out the dealers and to make cannabis safer to grow, supply and use

My mission is to give everyone who wants it access the safest possible cannabis supplies, especially those who need cannabis for the relief of pain and suffering. I could go to prison, purely for relieving extreme pain and suffering.

My case

I am facing a criminal prosecution in the Crown Court for supplying a terminally ill cancer patient with home-made cannabis oil without charge, at the request of his family. He has since sadly passed away.

At the time when the cannabis was supplied the deceased was in the latter stages of terminal cancer and in extreme and constant pain, for which the cannabis oil provided some blessed relief, as can be seen in video and still footage from the end of his life. I cannot properly defend myself without your support!

Defending a long Crown Court trial is very expensive and many of the costs simply will not be covered without private fundraising.

I need to fund a top specialist legal team, with expertise in defending difficult and high profile cases, which may challenge the existing state of the law. I need to instruct a wide range of experts on the medical benefits of cannabis for terminal cancer patients and the inconsistent enforcement of cannabis laws up and down the country.

This case could change the law on medical cannabis in the UK!

I want the courts to finally recognise that it is lawful to supply cannabis where the only motivation is the relief of extreme pain and suffering. I want cannabis laws to be applied fairly and evenly across the country. I want cannabis to be licensed, legalised and de-criminalised as it now is in so many other countries.

What are the next steps in the case? URGENT!

The trial is listed for three weeks in November 2022 and urgent preparation is required, by both my legal team and expert witnesses.

As soon as funding is in place, work will begin to put together the strongest possible defence, including powerful legal arguments for a change in the approach to cannabis supply in cases of medical necessity.

How much am I raising and why?

I need to raise at least £200,000 for legal and and expert costs, to cover all of the work needed, up to and including the three-week trial in November 2022. Every penny raised will be used to support my legal defence and to raise issues around the benefits of medical cannabis for pain relief.

Thank you!

Thank you for caring about people who desperately need cannabis products to relieve unbearable plain.Your support means everything, not just to me but to everyone who faces prosecution for supplying cannabis to help other people. And you never know, together we might just change the law!
