Who I am

For more than 30 years, I have worked as an award-winning journalist in regional and national media. Labour Party hypocrisy about Ivor Caplin, best friend of Hove MP Peter Kyle, is one of the most important investigations I have undertaken. I am 69.

Background

Caplin, ex-MP and defence minister under Tony Blair during the invasion of Iraq, is a key member of the Israel lobby and former chair of the Jewish Labour Movement; along with his best friend Peter Kyle, he was pivotal in myriad fake allegations of "antisemitism" that resulted in countless Labour members being suspended and expelled. Often for simple truths posted on social media.

After Caplin was selected by the Labour Party to impose his hand-picked council candidates across Brighton and Hove, I spent nearly two years disclosing how he routinely "liked" and/or replied-to and re-posted shocking pornographic videos and images on X (formerly Twitter). 

Scores of senior Labour figures, as well as many prominent Zionist activists - such as Fiona Sharpe, founder of Sussex Friends of Israel and spokesperson for Labour Against Anti-Semitism - followed his account and were aware of his online activities.

Yet they said nothing. And did nothing. Despite blatant breaches of Labour Party rules.

Why I need your help

I need your help because I now face up to six months in prison and an unlimited fine - simply for posting, as part of my campaign as a journalist, a single screenshot of one of Caplin's replies to a one of thousands of pornographic posts by an OnlyFans model. 

I was charged under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, three days after Caplin was arrested - as a result, I believe, of my disclosures - on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child. A previous arrest after Caplin allegedly sexually assaulted a young homeless person in a hostel resulted in no further action by Sussex Police.

My trial

My two-day trial is at Brighton Magistrates' Court on November 17 and 18. Because of the "unusual sensitivity" of the case, the trial will be in front of the country's Senior District Judge and Chief Magistrate.

In the 13 months since I undertook a voluntary interview with Sussex Police, I have committed tens of thousands of pounds of my own savings on the best legal team available, including a King's Counsel.
