My name is Richa & I am been a victim of harassment and cyber bullying for the past 5 months. I am an IT consultant by profession and I live alone and all this is very distressing frightening for me.

I have been the victim of a vicious cyber bullying campaign, receiving over 300 emails in the last 5 months, all of a threatening and harassing nature, and often containing explicit sexual threats.

I am writing in the hope you may be able to assist in a particularly distressing situation that I've had to endure over the past four months. Please contribute what you can to help with my legal fees and most importantly share this page with your friends, famiy and on social media.

This campaign has extended to fake Facebook profiles being created publishing my personal address and phone number without my knowledge, my being signed up without my knowledge on adult sites resulting in me receiving threatening and abusive emails from respondents, and to having male escorts ordered without my knowledge and sent to my residential address late in the evening to knock on my door. As I live alone, this is especially distressing and frightening.

It is just so incredibly unjust that cyber-harassment of this kind, which is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s digital society. If I can win this case it will be a sigh of relief of thousands of women who have to deal with this.

The more recent communications have been addressed to senior management in the company where I am an employee which has meant that my CEO, CIO and CTO and HR team have all also been receiving distressing and harassing emails on a daily basis which is very upsetting and humiliating for me.

My employers have also had to deal with false allegations made against the company by the person doing this to various official bodies and regulators such as the Insolvency Service, ACAS and the NRA.

The bullying campaign is obviously intended to cause me severe upset and to ruin my career. It has severely affected my health and mental well-being, to the extent that I feel constantly anxious and frightened.

Changing my personal email accounts and phone number has only somewhat alleviated the issue as I am still being contacted through my work email and my work colleagues are now also being contacted and facing harassment. I feel powerless to stop what is happening.

I have tried to get police assistance from the Surrey Police but the investigation was regrettably closed after just a short time due to lack of resource. I suspect that the complexity of investigating cyber harassment of this kind and the cross border elements of my case also made the case too difficult for Surrey Police to pursue.

However being unable to get police assistance is very frustrating and has left me feeling as though there is no solution that can offer me help. I feel at a loss for what to do next and the situation is getting worse. I have also tried to contact my local MP and few NGO's but cant find the help and support I need.

The only way to stop this person is by getting a Civil Injunction from the court, this will legally protect me from threats or acts of violence by the suspect.

How much am I raising and why?

The legal firm Hodge Jones & Allen solicitor has agreed to take my case. In the first instance I need to raise £2,500 to get the legal proceedings started but I will then need to go on to raise £20,000.

Any help with this situation would be gratefully received.
