In July 2025, ten police officers stormed the home of a UK game collector, arresting him on money laundering charges and seizing dozens of rare development kits including unique Nintendo Wii U and 3DS prototypes lawfully purchased from a SEGA office clearance.
These items weren’t contraband. Their real value was historical preserving unreleased games and hardware for the community. Instead, SEGA turned what should have been a normal collectors’ sale into a full-blown police raid.
