My name is Joe Anderson and I want to ask for your support to apply for permission to Judicially Review a decision taken by the Secretary of State for Local Government, Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, to interfere in the running of Liverpool City Council.

The Tory Government sent in an unelected Civil Servant Max Caller to produce a report on Best Value. His report is full of misleading information with no real evidence or facts produced or shown. This Report has been taken as the truth and the Secretary of State has taken action using powers within the Local Government Act using this flawed and inaccurate report as justification.

With your donation we can take legal action to fight back against a decision that is political and wrong. The people of Liverpool have just voted in the local elections and voted in a Labour Mayor and a large majority Labour Council. That democratic decision shows the people have confidence in their local politicians to run the Council.

We need to raise approximately £20,000 to take action and show this Tory Government that only through the ballot box and not the dispatch box will the people allow such blatant interference. It is an extraordinary decision from a Government who have failed and shown a total disregard for probity and transparency in their own running of the country, with the PPE impropriety and the Home Secretary bullying scandal as two clear examples. You couldn’t make it up! Let’s fight back. Let's stop the Tory takeover of Liverpool.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.
