Who are we?

The RAADAR Team (Residents Against Airport Disturbance and Radar https://raadar.org.uk/) campaigned since October to successfully secure commitment from Marshall Airport to move their obscene 38 m Radar Tower away from homes.

Summary

Marshall have committed to moving their new radar about 200 metres to the south west of the current imposing position. However, residents have since still been exposed to permanent damaging low frequency noise which has severely disturbed residents day and night, while the radar has been tested.

(for low frequency noise damage see for example: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/264174685_Low_Frequency_Noise_and_It's_Psychological_Effects/link/5e15fb5aa6fdcc283763041e/download)

Marshall has explained the new radar has been tested so that it is in a "ready state" in case the existing (much older) radar, in their words, "suffers a catastrophic failure"..

Without further suppression, the noise would be permanent and still likely impact large numbers of homes even in its new location.

Call to action

We are looking to raise £1000 initial contingency, to further escalate the campaign in the eventuality that Marshall turn on the radar permanently in its current location (due to a premature failure of their existing radar), or turn it on in its new location without adequate sound reduction systems in place.

Your contribution will only be used if one of these scenarios arises.

Many thanks for your contribution and solidarity with the community.

Warm wishes,

Matthew Howard on behalf of RAADAR (https://raadar.org.uk/
