I'm raising funds for my daughter's inquest.

On 28 July 2018, my 6 year old daughter, Dajahnel ‘Amazin’ Young, went to the seaside with someone who I thought was a trusted friend and would take good care of her.  My beloved daughter never returned; she drowned.  Since that time I have not heard a straight forward answer to the question, “What happened to my child?”

An inquest has opened into Amazin’s death, but I need representation in order to be able to get to the truth.

The person to whom I entrusted the care of my daughter is, Cynthia Robinson.  She is the pastor at the Mission for Christ Pentecostal Ministry, based in Addiscombe, Surrey.

The decision to let her go on this trip was made on the spur of the moment, because Amazin was always with me, and was there when I was asked if she could go.  As soon as she heard mention of the ‘beach’, Amazin became excited, as any 6 year old would.  Also as I was at work at the time, some of my customers urged me to let her go, because they knew that Amazin was always with me.  And so I agreed, I let her go, but I gave instructions to Cynthia that she could not swim and was not to be allowed into the sea.

I now regret that decision, and will for the rest of my life.  The pain that I feel and share with all of those people who loved Amazin, is unbearable.  But what is more unbearable is not knowing why and how this happened.

I last saw my daughter alive on the beach on facetime, as I called the person caring for her at around 2.00PM on the day in question.  An hour later, I was being rushed from London to Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, by the Police.

I have heard various stories directly and indirectly about how my daughter died; first it was blamed on the lifeguard (the lifeguards are not to blame at all); then, that Amazin went with the teenagers (a group of teenagers were also on the trip) to the Pier; then that it wasn’t known if she went to the Pier; that Amazin was sent to wash her hands in the sea; that Amazin was alone on the beach with one of the group, who turned their back to retrieve a camera that was in the tent, and when they turned back, Amazin was gone.

The more I think about the things that I have heard since the death of my baby, the more I am at a complete loss to explain the total lack of remorse or responsibility from anyone for what happened, and the more the death of my daughter does not make sense.  I have not been told the truth.

Why do I need your help?

As Amazin’s mum I want to know what really happened to my daughter and how she ended up losing her life, on what was to be a fun day out - and her very first time away from me.  The Inquest is the only way that I will be able to know the truth.

The purpose of the inquest is to establish answers to four questions: who was the person, where they died, when they died, and how they came by their death.  It is to find out the truth about how my baby lost her life, that I need your kind support.

I have engaged solicitors and a very experienced barrister to represent me, but as the case, thanks to the legal team, will not be swept away, the matter will go on for longer than the original few hours set down for the inquest, and maybe some 3 to 5 days.

I am therefore appealing for assistance with the legal fees for the case, and have set an initial target of £2,500.

Very surprisingly, and unfortunately, legal aid is not available to cover the legal costs for the inquest into the death of a child in these circumstances, and I have no money to be able to pay for representation, so I am appealing to you to please help me find out the truth about how my sweet little daughter, whose life had only just begun, died.
Please share this with your friends and family and help me find out what happened to my beautiful little girl, Amazin.
