We need to challenge the decision of Corby CCG in the downgrading of the service and not taking into consideration the needs of Corby, the area and the users of the service through Judicial Review.

Who are we?

We are a group of people concerned people fighting to make sure the people of Corby and the surrounding areas have access to the health services they need.

We need your support to legally challenge the decision to radically change healthcare provision in Corby and limit who can access care.

What’s happening to Corby healthcare?

Corby Clinical Commissioning Group want to repurpose Corby Urgent Care Centre which is a walk in Urgent Care Centre open to all people who visit or live around the area, to a GP overflow hub open only to people who are registered with a Corby GP.

This would mean the exclusion of 100,000s of people that need urgent care, who work or visit or live around the area every year.

Corby Clinical Commissioning Group has failed to seek the views of service users in making this decision, and not taken into consideration the needs of the area.

The Urgent Care Centre is a vital service for Corby, Kettering General Hospital our nearest A&E is over 10 miles away and is at the moment in Special Measures with urgent and emergency services rated as inadequate. Many people do not have the transport to get there.

Our NHS services are under pressure across the board: East Midlands Ambulance Service has brought in a new process for prioritsing patients called Ambulance Response Programme , which could lead to long waits for transporting people to the nearest place for urgent and emergency care.

What are we raising and why?

It is vital that Corby Urgent Care is kept a walk in enhanced service open to all who need it.

We are raising money to perform a judicial review of the decision to repurpose the Corby Urgent Care Centre. Our initial target is £5k but in total we predict we will need £10k to pay our legal fees including lawyers and court fees.
