Read moreAbout us:
My name is Mishaal, I am a recognised refugee in the UK and I live with my wife, Ayat and our four children in London. My 64 year old mother, Karima, is stranded in Greece and she is in need of our support and care.
What's at stake:
My mother is an asylum seeker, she lives in Greece by herself and does not have anyone to care for her. She is struggling. She has severe clinical depression and various physical health problems which are only getting worse. I visit her as often as I can but this is not enough. My family and I are able to look after her in London. We have not been able to find a provider to take on my mother's family reunification case on legal aid. Thankfully, we have secured pro bono legal representation but there are still disbursements that need to be covered which we cannot afford.
My mother raised my children and supported my wife during the years before they came to the UK to join me. She has been alone for more than two years now and we are extremely worried for her. She deserves to be with her only family in her old age.
How much we need to raise
We need to raise £2,200 to cover the costs of expert reports and DNA evidence in support of her entry clearance application to the UK.
Thank you so much for your support and solidarity,
Mishaal, Ayat, Noor, Ridha, Fadhel and Hussein
